Mozart Reimagined
In Mozart Rock, Peter Sipos brought together two musical worlds that had shaped him from childhood: the discipline and beauty of classical music and the colour, energy and freedom of contemporary popular recording.
Created with internationally acclaimed opera singer Júlia Hamari, the album transforms familiar Mozart themes through synthesisers, electric instruments, rock rhythms and imaginative vocal arrangements.
THE HUNGARIAN YEARS
The Bands That Began the Journey
Peter’s professional story began amid the extraordinary energy of Hungarian popular music in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
As a bassist, singer, composer and arranger with Hungária and Juventus, he helped create recordings that combined driving rock instrumentation, adventurous guitar playing, strong melodies and carefully constructed vocal harmonies.
SONGS CLOSE TO HOME
These deeply personal songs were written from the heart, inspired by enduring love and the emotions that words alone cannot always express.
Tender, intimate and sincere, they reveal music at its most personal—not created for the stage or the marketplace, but as a genuine expression of devotion.
SONGS FOR OTHER ARTISTS
Throughout his career, Peter’s music has travelled beyond his own performances and theatrical projects, finding expression through television commissions, international recordings and the voices of celebrated artists.
The collection begins in East Germany during the early 1970s. Ungeduldig…, commissioned for East German Youth Television, was performed by Hungária in approximately 1973. That same year, Peter wrote Dein Lächeln… for Hungarian star Kati Kovács and her East German LP. This was followed, around 1974, by Es war lieb…, recorded by acclaimed East German singer Uschi Brüning.
The collection then moves to 1985 and Pour vous, recorded by Céline Dion. Tender and melodic, the song represents another remarkable moment in Peter’s international songwriting career.
Together, these four recordings reveal how Peter’s music crossed borders, languages and musical cultures—finding new life through very different performers and voices.
BEYOND THE STAGE AND STUDIO
Unexpected Treasures
Peter’s musical life extends far beyond bands, albums and major theatrical productions. This collection brings together music created for the theatre, cinema, broadcasting and other moments of inspiration throughout his career.
It includes three selections from Dybbuk (Tracks 6-8), revealing the dark and atmospheric musical world of Peter’s lesser-known stage work, alongside three pieces from his score for the 1998 Canadian film Random Encounter (Tracks 3-5).
The collection also includes a radio jingle—a brief but memorable example of Peter’s ability to create an immediate musical identity—as well as Baby Don’t Cry, represented by a 1984 video available to watch on YouTube.
Together, these recordings reveal another side of Peter’s creativity: dramatic, adaptable and endlessly curious, whether writing for a full theatrical story, a moment on screen or just a few unforgettable seconds of music.
